algae growth Empty algae growth

I have red and green algae growing in the sand, snails are taking care of the rocks. what factors could be contributing to my little algae problem?
specific gravity 1.026
ph 8.2
ca 440
mg 1400
alk 12
RO/DI water new unit TDS 0
3 39 watt actinic and 3 39 watt 10000k 8 hours


The algae is pearling,,, like healthy planted tank

Sorry, been without internet for a couple weeks. Check your phosphates and is the red algae cyano bacteria(red slime)? There is a product called "Red Slime Remover" that will kill the bacteria. Could be just overfeeding and too many phospates. Do you have a sump set up yet you can put macro algae in?

do you have a TDS meter?
How many stages to the ro unit?

OH ha just saw your tds at 0 so it really cant be that.

I would agree with Lilfishe *(Welcome Back) on PO4, some nitrates may be there as well, also, how is you flow, will tend to start growing in dead spots.

coud probaby up the fow, the RO stage is suppopsed to fiter out the Po correct?

Also anything you have that you are putting into the tank, read the package and make sure it says "phosphate free" including food. Most flake food will have phosphates and will cause algae issues.

What are you feeding?
