Growth on Fish?

So I removed my main ornament in my Pundamilia nyererei tank to move a holding female to a maternity tank.

But I found that another one of the females currently has something (a growth or egg?) where she holds the eggs in her mouth.

So what does everyone think it is? I've never stripped a fish, but from what I am told, THAT should not happen. lol
I decided to move both females to a maternity tank. I will dose with melafix as it looks like it is an abrasion.
