Dual 300 watt heaters failing?
I've set the units to 83*, but based on 3 different thermometers readings, the water temp. is at 67!!
The heating units red light continues to glow nonstop.
The heating units are plugged in at a different location from the other equipments.
Ambient room temp. is about 70*
my another tanks temp. is just right an precise.
Does anyone know the symptoms of a dying heating unit?

Re: Dual 300 watt heaters failing?
Hey I had the same problem a couple of days ago. The light on the heater would stay on but the temp wouldn't
Rise past 67. Good thing I had an extra heater
If you are able to figure out what's wrong let know

Re: Dual 300 watt heaters failing?
None of those brands. But Bobby sells his for dirt. I have a jäger I bought for 40 something bucks and one of his in my 6 footer and there both working fine. His was 15 bucks. Actually I think he gave me a discount cause I'm a memember here. It was 13 now that I think of it. The only name on it is ViaA 300 watt dully submerisble. Sorry that's all I got.

Re: Dual 300 watt heaters failing?
What brand are they? I recently had a Marineland Stealth fail and I called the manufacturer and found that they offer a lifetime warranty. Cost me $5 to send it in and they very quickly sent me a new one. To me....in the end it was worth the extra $ to go with a manufacturer that stands behind their products. Oh and they didn't require a receipt or anything!

Re: Dual 300 watt heaters failing?
A visi therm.....wow....I'm surprised you'd have both of them go out. The stealths and stealths pro have had extreme problems but I haven't heard anything about the visi therms. Anyway google marineland customer service and get their 800 number and call them. I got a live body on the first try and that way you can explain your problem. Good Luck!

Marineland heaters blow, seriously they BLOW UP
I would get a Hydor In-Line-Heater. Hooks onto your canister outlet tubing. I hear great reviews and it has CONSTANT temperature.

Re: Dual 300 watt heaters failing?
Petsmart has Eheim, but I don't know the wattage they carry.
Petsmart used to carry Hydor, but no longer do. You can buy em online now.
Petsmart carriers Rena Smart Heaters.
So, I guess your going to Petsmart!

true that! i might keep one of the new units, i still have another backup unit. i hope others will learn from this experience; a unit that glows its indicator, but does not create proper heat=FAIL!

I cranked both up to full blast last night and this morning same temp.. Looks like both my Marineland Visi-Therm Stealth Submersible Aquarium Heaters Crapped out on me.. Time to buy 2 more new ones..
