| I have alot of expired fish food and I was wondering...Do I feed my fish this food and if I do what could happen? I read the labels and nothing pertains to the dangers of expired fish food. I don't want to buy more but if I have to I will. I care about my fish but I also care about not wasting all this fish food. Any help will be much appreciated. |

| Fish food is so cheap I wouldn't risk it. Toss it and get some new food if you are worried. |

| It can't be any worse than you eating a stale ritz cracker. You could live on it, but would probably prefer fresh food.. we're talking about dried flake food right? |

| Hikari Cichlid Gold floating pellets and Super Veggie Blend from HBH. I feed Blood Parrots, Flower Horn, Rosey Barbs and Bushy Nose Plecos. The oldest food is dated for June of 09'. |

| also depends on the fish... I would feed it to gold fish, or really hardy new world cichlids.... wouldnt do it with any of my more expensive fish though.... My fish are picky and probably wouldnt eat it if it wasnt fresh. lol, spoiled fish. _________________ Sandnuka WFB Administrator

| The hikari pellets are fine. I might toss the flakes. One thing I always did was give it a smell if it smells like fish food then feed it. If it smells like @$$ then don't. I have fed old fish food before and it was fine. But it smelt fine. _________________ 180: rio coloradito & rio usumantica (temp combo) 4x F1 A. | So far all the food smells fishy and that has always been the case. Thats why the question because it smells like fish food. Right now I don't have the time to hit a store with my brother flying in from Spain. I will feed them the pellets for now and hit a store next week.
Thanks all |
