Rapps Order
SO stoked right now - I missed out on the wild A. centrarchus from Costa Rica when jeff had them in earlier this year. They popped up in the list again this week - I just pulled the trigger and we're finalizing the order for a pair. This fish has been on my wish list for many many years. I'm pretty excited right now!
I will also be getting a pair of wild A. septemfasciatus, another fish that has been on my wish list for a while now.
Can't WAIT to get this shipment in!

Re: Rapps Order
the Midas have actually been on there for a couple months I bought some of those when he first got them in on his last Costa Rican shipment. They are the barred ones though they are not orange I don't know if you noticed that.
Was thinking of ordering some of the septs myself.

Not midas - I think you saw citrinellus, rather than centrarchus?

LOL, you are correct, I did see citrinellum. I picked a pair(centrachus) up on his last shipment. The male is still fighting a worm issue and columnaris.

I remember that you got centrarchus and I didn't
Somewhere in the posts about that order, you mentioned some kind of quarantine cocktail that you used with new fish - Care to share your process here?

Re: Rapps Order
For him it has gotten quite extensive.
Usually I treat with nitrofuracin, metro, and Kanamycin. Along with 1 treatment of epsom salt 1tsp/10gal on 1st dose. The meds I do 3 treatments every 3rd day with a water change just prior. I keep them in quarantine for 6 weeks before they go into the community.

Is the quarantine this extensive because of the fact many of them are wild caught?

Yes, and I do this whenever I buy from LFS or unknown sellers. I have lost to many fish to poor quarantining. Never again.

Thanks for the heads-up Madness. I'll keep a close eye on them when they come in.
