Bassettman,
These are absolutely amazing exotic fish!
I couldn't find any reading on the internet about this guy.

Anyway you could elaborate on this species or share a link to some reading?

Interesting....
At sometime I plan on housing Oscars. I've always been fascinated by Oscars but never housed them due to the fact they are so common. I like them though. When I get to the point where I house them these will definitely be at the top of my list since they are -uncommon.
You got these from Rapps. What are your plans? Resell, keep, breed?

Re: Rapps strikes again
Is the "red" tiger Oscar naturally red or have they been breed or cross bred to get the red in them?
I read about the Meyersi after you posted yours. I like these as well. These would totally be considered if I start raising large predators again.
These are the reasons I like this forum and GSAS email thread. I constantly see species im not familiar with.

Re: Rapps strikes again
You have just the 1? Any chance of housing a couple together or is it just hit and miss like all the other SA cichlids?

Re: Rapps strikes again
They are quite mild compared to others but oscars in general are 1 or 2 or more than four three is a bad number. If you get two while small it is 50-50 if they gett along as they mature. 2 females yes 1 male 1 female maybe, 2 males no chance. They are extremely hard to sex.

Thanks for sharing... I know when the time comes I'll be searching for these WC fish. I have Rapp's website. I've never ordered from him but by the sounds of it many members have and rave a about him.

He is a great guy. He packs the fish extremely well. All the fish are superb. Costs a bit but so so worth it.and if you get in on a group buy the shipping is not too bad.
