Re: Dario Species?
Hi Livebearer,
Dario Dario (Badis badis / Scarlet Badis) are a nice little fish which I have kept in the past. They seem to do well in our local soft water and prefer (almost insist on) live foods. They have small mouths - I suggest Grindal worms and live brine shrimp.
They are very, very difficult to breed with just a few incidents reported. A few GSAS members formed a working group a year or so ago and did a large purchase of this species; they have been trying to breed them in colonies.

Re: Dario Species?
Thank's F.L.R., Seattle aquarist
I swear I had seen a past post on Airstone reguarding someone sucessfully breeding Dario dario.
I have just a aquired Dario H. at a l.s.f.s. and have had D.D. in the past. Yes, they only seem to eat things that move but I'm finding out these Dario H. are bit less particular and have managed to get them to TRY Newlife spectrum small pellet food. I am also feeding mirco earth worms I find in my leaves in the garden and they pefer them very much. I had posted an ad for W.T.B. "white worms" as well but no one seems to know what these are on here.

Re: Dario Species?
Hi Livebearer,
One of our GSAS speakers, I believe Ted Judy, was purported to have bred them by accident in a colony holding tank in his fish room.

Re: Dario Species?
Yeah, but Ted Judy is a fish-breeding NINJA. All he has to do is walk into a room and the fish start breeding...
