Dwarf Baby Tears without CO2?
I'm curious what people's experience has been with HC. I tried a little I got from another member, but it very little survived the transition from Seattle water to Oly water. I'd like to try again as I'm setting up a tank for a local medical facility and I think it would look really nice. I'm using my mineralized soil substrate and have relatively high lighting, but this tank will have no CO2 to keep equipment maintenance minimal.
The question is if you've had good luck with dwarf baby tears, what was your technique for keeping it.

Re: Dwarf Baby Tears without CO2?
Not good luck here. I bought some that was grown in rockwool, probably grown emersed, and definitely had CO2 before I bought it. It died pretty fast, it seemed like algae just out-competed it and smothered it before it could even adjust.
That said, my tank was very new at the time and I definitely didn't have the ideal conditions for it. So, you might have more luck, but that was my experience. I think your best bet might be to get some from another hobbyist who keeps it under similar conditions to what you would be keeping it in, and then it should have an easier time adjusting. I don't know for sure though whether it will eventually look good without CO2, it might start growing a lot differently without it. Individual members from many plant species can look startlingly different from each other depending on conditions.

Mine were fine cause of dirt and co2 but my darn fishes ate them.

Mine thrive but on DIY co2...on a side note in a small tank (under 20) they are hard to trim... or at least I find it hard so I neglect them and they grow pretty tall which is ok but then they can come up out of the substate easier and the fish like to try and swim in them! So i'm considering taking them out...if they were in my 20g Long or a bigger tank they make great ground cover.

Mine seems to be growing well in a dirted tank, NO co2, and med lighting. Hmmm... it started growing slowly, but now it's kinda overtaking my tank.

This will be a shrimp only tank. Anybody in the south sound area have any they'd be willing to part with?
I'd like to give it another go. If I can get it to grow in the 10g with no CO2 I'm pretty confident I could get it to grow in my upcoming 20g long with CO2.
