Heading to the airport to grab my EBJD. Will be taking pics in the a.m. maybe Ill take some tonight.

Those are beautiful EBJD. I read very hard to keep. Mortality rate is pretty low even with the best care at that age but youre a master at it.

Those little guys look good.

Nice looking jacks, best of luck with those guys. If anyone here can do good with them, you can!

Lights just came on, so I will give them about another 30 minutes to wake up and stretch,  and then I will go visit my new friends.

Where are the pictures of them at home in their new tank? I know patience....

Those look good. No visible deformities and good color.

Very nice. They came in larger than I expected! I like their varying colors from blue to gold. At least that's what I'm seeing through the pictures ...

Not that they will breed by next week but, you have to have a EBJD and a regular blue gene carrier to produce more EBJD? Sorry weird phrasing but it is a question.

Actually Lloyd, I am looking for a BGJD about 5" to breed with the male I got from you. Did you see the picture of him in my photo thread? He looks great.

I could use the color in the 210g. The midas is taking forever to peel and the bifa is a little jerk. So I might be interested.

well im picking up a free 55 gal tank in the morning  maybe by the time I set it up you will have fry for me  

I so if a regular jd mates with an ebjd. Does that mean zero chance of more electric blues?

from what I understand, you will still get some EB fry but not near as many, but the other fry would be BGJD (blue gene JD)

Or maybe cross it with a Red Terror or a Red Texas or a..... NOT  

Don't be a Debbie downer, Dmd, those are all exceptional hybrids.....,so don't sell yourself short

The only hybrid is the Red Texas. The EBJD is not a hybrid...

Even if they are ugly, Aquarium Paradise would sell them.   Just need the catchy anme for them like what Lloyd came up with and would not hurt to add horn to that. So 'electric purple jack dempsey horn' it is.

Back to subject.... It will be nice to see some good stock available locally. Ive always been interested in these but way to expensive for garbage fish with deformations like a beaked mouth. The breeding stock madness obtained looks good and mixing the bloodline to not have them inbreed is a good idea. They will have stunning offspring.
