Fish Request Thread - FRT
This will be an ongoing Fish Request Thread and will be referred to as FRT for short.
Here you can post a fish you're looking for and while I'm searching through wholesale lists each week like I normally would I can take note of a fish you're looking for. If I am able to find it, here is how it would work.
You post that you're looking for lets say a silver arrowana. I find it on the wholesale list and PM you with the price. Lets say it's $50. For me to order the arrowana you paypal me 50% down payment. Which would be $25 in this case. When it arrives and settles into my tanks for a week, you can then come pick it up or arrange for shipment of it and pay the remainder oft he balance. If for some reason the fish doesn't come in then your money will be refunded. If the fish dies from stress etc coming to my fish room, your money will be refunded. However once the fish leaves my hands, it is then on you. So when you pick up the fish, you're confirming you feel the fish is healthy enough to take home.
So hopefully this will help some of you track some stuff down you're looking for. On a list I'm ordering from this week, theres some archers. If I had the space I'd setup a tank myself for those

I'm curious if you could get a small (around 6") Retic Stingray and what the price would be.

One fish I have been looking for is the Vieja ufermanni. I know you are more about the smaller stuff, but if you happened to come across these, let me know.

Wild caught are fine as long as they are little guys. Keep me updated if you would or I can check back with you...

Im putting Datnoids on the back burner and currently searching for larger Apistogramma species like the Macaroni. Male, and a couple females. Also on the hunt for female dwarf pike Regani.

Re: Fish Request Thread - FRT
I was at one of my breeder's house on Monday. She had a large apisto strain. The male was probably 4-5 inches. I'm not sure which strain it was though. I'll have to email and ask as she had fry in the tank. I assume I'll have some in my store when it opens.
She is also spawning apisto. kelleri, and some signatus shelldwellers, and some lake tang killis.

Re: Fish Request Thread - FRT
I am really thinking about a large planted tank with a bunch of Apisto's in it.

I think I have apisto. Kelleri, or a strain of. I have a male and 2 female. The females are way too small to put in with my dwarf pike. This is why Im searching for species where the females get large enough to protect themselves against my widdle pike.

Re: Fish Request Thread - FRT
honestly apistos and pike probably dont fit well with each other. only way id even attempt is if the tank was covered in leaf litter for them to hide in (many use indian almond leaves, oak, etc) you could also look into some other dwarf cichlid species. i cant remember the names off the top of my head but the GSAS lecture on dwarf cichlids should have it.

This is correct. These two species in nature are nemesis. It's a beautiful thing. I'm searching for another odd ball sized long aquarium to do a natural aqua scape with dwarf pike one one end and a healthy large Apistogramma pair on the other end. The face off of dwarf cichlids is just intense as a face off of large cichlids. When my dwarf pike breaches my male Krib territory it is sight to behold. Gills flaring, Krib shaking, a brief dwarf scramble battle with the Pikes eventual retreat. If there is fry it's 2 on 1 with my pair of Leopard Ctentopoma patiently hovering 2 feet above for a loose Krib fry.
Krib corner in 140 gallon long (7foot tank)
Pike a no-no
