RE-sealing 55g tank on one side
so heres how it goes aqueon wont refund my 55$ for my tank that is 2 monthes old but i thought i could re-seal it till my dad seen i had took the top rim off and broke it in the proccess...... will my 55g be fine wfilled with water without the top rim....... also i will re-seal it very well i just dont want the tank to bow....

my 55gal bows with a broken center brace. better safe than sorry.

The brace was there for a reason. Manufactures do make braceless tanks but they are thicker glass. Rig up a brace if you can live with it. Or have (or try to) complete confidence by buying a new one.

You can make your own bracing out of glass and silicone it in place. Look up the term "euro-bracing" and you can get some ideas on how to do it. You can also order a new frame, try a company like glasscages.com. By the time you buy the caulk, the glass or frame, it will be cheaper and easier to just get another tank.
