DIY Python question Empty DIY Python question

I'm currently building one. Does anyone here have built in a valve of some sort? Should I be worried of anything exploding in my apartment if I were to turn the valve during filling off of my bathroom sink?

I went through the lounge and search with no luck Sad

I know what I'm doing, I'm just worried about back flow and if I'm better off removing the valve.

My plan, when I make one, is to hook to to the shower pipe (unscrew the shower head) so that if I turn the valve off at the filling end, and the pressure blows things apart, it will be in the bathtub with the curtain closed.

Well I did a test. It held, I do need some thread tape I musta thrown my last bit away. I thought I turned my faucet off but I turned the cold all the way up. Nothing exploded Very Happy!

Now I'm letting my hose sit at full pressure to get all the kinks out from being rolled up. All in all it cost me about $45 to do it. It would have been a lot cheaper to use garden hose but I like my clear hose Smile

if you get the green style T-valve thing for the python and the sink adapter the rest hooks to a garden hose... those to parts should cost you about 10 bucks unless you get the brass then like 15 plus the price of the garden hose 15'..25'....50'...100' so have plenty of options just what ever hose length you need

in the pict of the above link you just need the two pieces in the first pict (the blue and white parts) i never use the shut off value in the last couple but the python uses hose threads so any hose attachment will work with the system [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

The longer 50" ones go for 69.99 plus tax at APFP.

Oh and I bought one of those water bed kits today it's way cheaper than the aqueon version!

Nice! I didn't do a DIY on this to be cheap. I did it mearly to do it my way. And after not lugging buckets today I feel the need to retire at least 4 of them to my storage. hahahaha

FREEDOM!
