~~~Um, Question~~~
So I'm chillin in the fish room just ghosted the board, and finished writing in my blog. Now I'm staring at my 6ft "grow out" tank and noticed something. The pink con ( baby daddy to my hrp batch ) is now displaying the same actions that he was doing before. But with my female con since my hrp is in a ten gallon tank on her own. And may I add kicking the crap out of a flowerhorn about an inch bigger. Anyway, my question is eventually I was going to re add the hrp to the mix in the grow out. Is that ok will the con now kill her? I mean this pink con is gaurding another pot with ruthless intent. Is this normal? Is my con a gigalo? He is down the same scraping the pot getting it ready and both him and the female con guarding the area. Do I need more tanks lol ?!?!
Re: ~~~Um, Question~~~
he would prob eat them, if the male was left in the tank when they hatched they would be ok for awile, but if you put him in now he would prob eat them. they also eat there young when they are ready to spawn again, at least with texas they do
Re: ~~~Um, Question~~~
Your Con will hold its own to protect the spawn. I have a 3" Con right now holding off a 5" female and 8" male Dempsey. And they are trying their hardest to get the young. Cons are not monogamous. If you left the female HRP in the tank with him, he probably would have stayed with her. But you pulled her so he needs to find a new woman.
I had a male spawn with 2 females in the same tank. And the cool thing about it is that the 3 of them cared for all the babies. I must have had 1000 fry.
