Man oh man..... Betty that's some nice shooting, amazing pics. Beautiful fish, I really like the no fear pic, that pic reminds me of an old salvini male I had, at 3 inches it wouldent cowe to a 8 inch jag. One of these days I will have to keep this species I really like little fish that have loads of attitude.

Yeah, inside the filter when I went to clean it out. And by the looks of him, there was plenty to eat.

He's not the first, and I'm sure won't be the last fish I find in a filter. Shocked I always check carefully now before I dump the water out. I don't raise many fry on purpose any more, but I figure if they survived that ride, they deserve to live.

Thanks everyone, for the comments.

Paintguy, these aren't recent pictures, so it doesn't count. Smile

Me, I picked up five of these at Aquarium Paradise about six years ago. They were tiny little fry that I think someone had brought in to the store.

Thanks, sand!

Me, not all were perfect. I had one big male that was perfect on one side and had two bars merge at the top like this ---> /\. Not what people want, I know, but he was a beautiful fish. I might have a picture of him somewhere ... it's been so long, I'll have to dig around to see if I can find one. There were a couple of offspring that also had uneven bars.

I only kept a couple of spawns to bring my numbers up. When I first bought the five, I hadn't done my research and didn't know that they needed to be kept in larger numbers. Luckily I didn't have any casualties and it didn't take long for them to mature and produce fry.

Thanks again for the info Betty. I've seen allot with crossed bars online and at petstores, I don't know if I would consider them low quality, but being a frontosa fan, I definitely like to see them with perfect bars. It's just that I know they exist Wink with many Mbuna, Victorians and others crossed bars are the norm so I would never care about some crossing.

Anyhow, great looking fish Betty !!
