Betta's stomach area fat.
My betta's stomach looks kind of big for it's total size.
I only feed it processed foods and Frozen krill. Water quality is perfect, aggression is nonexistant, it's in a comm. tank.
I did a WC, removed airstone. I also fast it or 24 hours.
Do some thing else?

betta belly
Hey I had a king Betta for 6 & 1/2 years. He was AWESOME. But about 7 months before his death, his stomach started getting fat . After a few months, it was protruding so badly that his scales started curling back.
It was a tumor, and eventually it killed him. How old is your betta? I am not trying to scare you but please be aware that tumors are common in older bettas.
I hope he's just a good eater & best of luck!!

Hello and wecome!!!
My betta is few months old. His scales are not curling back, thank god.
I was thinking indigestion, but a tumor? Wow. Poor betta.

How much do you feed him? Keep an eye on him; if the swelling does not reduce then it could be just a swim bladder issue

Hmm. I wouldn't feed him for a few days just to see if the swelling will go down.

Krill is a saltwater critter and extremely high in omega 3 fatty oil. Maybe too much and making him fat? Maybe switch to frozen mysis. Thats what I feed all my fish. I soak it in a vitamin suppliment. They love it.

My betta Speedracer did the same thing. He'd always take a bit outta the snails' wafers. He would bloat himself lol

after the bottom level fishes breakup those pellets, the betta would eat the chunks.
