Fish not eating floating pellets
added a red devil to my tank about a week ago and he isn't going after the floating pellets that my oscar's eat. He will pick up stuff that falls to the bottom. I was thinking maybe he was given sinking pellets. My question is will he end up eating the floating pellets or do I need to go get some sinking ones? It would be nice for the fish to eat the same food. Not sure if it matters but the rd might be mixed with a little midas.

Will do. I want a nice large fish with lots of color so he needs to eat. Plus all the treats like shrimp and krill float. So he needs to get his act together.

Jake, I can't email you for some reason. It comes back as a non delivery just so you know. But regarding the eating, it will eat. Fish can go weeks without eating.

my midas got so hungry he would jump 3-6 inches out of the water to take it from my hand.... and that was with a bunch of other fish in the tank.... whenever I used to get new fish it seemed they always fasted for awhile.

Good to hear from you. I just sent you a pm on mfk. She picks up what the oscar's spit out from the bottom of the tank. I really want her to eat full pellets instead of tiny pieces.

This is what I want. My oscar's will go nuts when they get shrimp. My airstone appeared out of my sand and I had to push it back down with the gravel vac. I had my hand in the water trying to hide the airstone when something bit the crap out of me. It scared the living daylights out of me. Those oscar's can pack a punch. The bad part is he is still a baby.

Did you scream like a little girl?
I used to hand feed my cichlids years ago until I got bit and it drew blood. It was the point where I realized I needed to give a little more respect.

I sure did lol. I wasn't even looking at the fish at the time. I tend to like everything perfect in my tank so the airstone showing was giving me nightmares.
