I'm going to start a saltwater project and need some help/advice. I have a opening in the wall just inside of our frount door and I'm going to intall at tank. The opening size is 43" wide, 46 " tall, and 19" deep. I've been looking aroune and the tank that I think will work best is a 65 gal. they are 36x18x24 (LxWxH) Does any one now of a 65 gal. for sale or of a tank that may fit the opening better then the 65.I going to try to load a picture of the opening. Any advice or commnets would help.

Thanks Rick[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I like the idea and I can't help you with a tank, but one question where are you going to put pumps and things?

There is a large space under the opening, I'll need to open it and reinforce the area and run power and filters from there.

Sounds like it will be pretty sweet. I don't know of any off hand, but check craigslist. I think that size is your best bet. Everything I've looked at that's any bigger is 48" long.

Glass in that entire area and make it the size of the entire opening.

Now we're talking pimpin.

I ran a few numbers and it would be around 150 -160 gal. I haven't done saltwater in about 15 years but I think it would look great there. It would be the first thing you would see when the door opens.

MrsAshleyODell's nano reef tank makes me want to try saltwater.

The thing I wished I'd done before setting my tank up is cementing the live rock before hand. Otherwise, things get knocked down and you end up spending countless hours rockscaping. Also, ReefCentral.com is a very active saltwater forum.
