Cichlid Salt/Buffer
I am working on getting my new 110 gal setup when I a discussion about salts and buffers came up. I know some of you use Seachem and Kent. I however have been using [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

Someone else mention using that and nothing else. What about for minerals etc?

Nothing but holey rock, ever. Never had an issue and I had some very nice Africans.

On the other hand I use Seachem's supplements - both the cichlid salts and the appropriate buffer. You should probably test your water and see how far off target you are. Also, if you're planning to keep wild caught then it's more important to reproduce the original water qualities than if you're keeping locally raised fish.

i agree with larry on the wild caught issue. with the rest id just base the cichlids u choose around the base water (unless u plan to add things like lace/holey rock or cichlid substrates, bogwood, etc) if you dont plan to get wilds i wouldnt worry to much about ph so long as you are not on the other side of the spectrum.
