Finally...Pics!
They finally decided to calm down enough (only every once in a while though ) to let me get some pics. Okay, I bribed them...I put some brine shrimp on the bottom so they would search, eat, and be still enough for the camera

Beautiful Beta's. You planning on spawning bro & sis. Both of their colors and patterns are stunning. They would have some awesome offspring.

So, people freak out about creating hybrids, but inbreeding siblings is okay? I don't understand people sometimes.

Actually with bettas, and other fish as well, breeding siblings is very common. They do it in the wild quite often. It all has to do with breeding certain traits. With hybrids, some people don't like mixing bloodlines from 2 different species of fish. Just like mixing a tiger and lion, some people just don't agree with it. If 2 siblings have a desirable trait is is okay to breed them, as long as you don't do it generation after generation.

You can safely breed a male dog with his mother.

With almost any animal you can safely inbreed a generation or two.

Stunning bettas! Are they thai imports?
As far as inbreeding, it takes alot of it to do damage in most animals...

Their parents are, but these are from PA.
Re: Finally...Pics!
Everyone is so happy I added 2 hillstream loaches to the tank and they love hanging out on the driftwood. I adjusted the filter flow too so they have flowing water but it doesn't disturb the bettas because of the size of the tank. They're usually hidden until later in the day and then they swim around and munch on the algae and the little micro-organisms
