Shrimp tank GH question Empty Shrimp tank GH question

ok at the risk of sounding REALLY dumb here..
i bought an API 5 in 1 test strip kit, mainly just for the GH reading, as i have the freshwater API kit
where i test for all the biggies (PH, ammo, nitrite, nitrate, )

I read that the shrimps should have 4-14 GH
but the test strip levels are 0,30,60,120,180

and if i am reading my results right.. its darker than 180

what is the actual reading here?

is it 180? or 18.0 or what?
it seems odd for me needing 4-14 and that is covered by the "0"?

im confused.
please unravel the mystery.

The test strip measures ppm, and the measurement you read is in degrees. "To convert KH in degrees to ppm, multiply by 17.9, or divide by 17.9 going the other way."

10 dGH is fine for neocaridina, but not a good idea for caridina species like CRS/CBS, OEBTs, etc.
