Assassin snails mating
I know...I must be really bored with my tanks if I'm filming snails mating...geez. But on the flip side...I was really kinda excited when I saw all the babies in this tank. They are really starting to multiply. I started with three adults from Aquarium Co-Op...and now...BANG...BUNCH OF BABIES. I find them when I gravel vac...the really small ones must stay close under the top of the gravel cause they appear as I siphon.
And please forgive this tank...this is my oldest tank...kinda a catch all tank. Bright gravel...small but well loved even though a mess most of the time.

Never ask forgiveness! It's YOUR tank. It's the way YOU keep it! It's YOUR hobby!!!

Neat! Can these snails like the ones they eat breed until they become a pest?

I'm not sure Chad. They are not supposed to bother the fish in any way and to get rid of them I guess you could starve them out (and I understand they don't like salt) as they are carnivores. They are not algae eaters...they eat other snails so can be used as alternatives to loaches and such.
I suppose if they took over the tank they could become pests but for now they are not pestering me or my tank. And as snails go, they are kinda purty
