Sunset Hygrophilla(Hygrophila polysperma Rosanervig). Beautiful plant but on the aquatic weeds list in many states(OK to keep it but illegal to sell).

That's awesome! Sandman’s favorite plant is an illegal invasive aquatic species! Very Happy

"It is on the Federal noxious weed list, which means it is illegal in all 50 states, not just Florida. It has actually been that way for quite some time, but some distributors had special permits to sell the plant. The USDA is no longer issuing or renewing the permits. The USDA is now going into pet shops looking for the plants and if they find them, they are asking the stores where they got them from. The USDA is also starting to come after Internet sellers, and there is talk they will next be going after EBAY sellers. Hygrophila polysperma, (either green or sunset) and Lymnophila sessiflora are the main plants they are most concerned about, but there are others. I have discontinued these plants, as I can not afford the $10,000 fine or to go to jail for selling a plant that’s only worth a buck."

Don't be too excited protocl, it's only considered as an INVASIVE PLANT.

WSDA doesn't regulate the plant, the legality of selling thois plant is a tricky issue. I wouldn't sell it. And I wouldn't say that xxxxx did an illegal thing

I went to the WSDA web site and it's not even listed as an invasive species. The WSDA doesn’t care about the plant because it doesn’t do well in northern climates. It's really only a problem in warmer climates like California, Texas, and Florida. Very Happy
