My first 29 gallon tank!
So stoked to finally get my first tank settled in and keeping constant parameters and constant happiness throughout the tank! This 29 gallon is my first tank I've done, and am starting with a community tank. I'm sure this is a very common view for a beginner tank, but I'm nonetheless excited to dive (ha!) in to the new hobby! My current crew is:
5x Panda Cory's
1x Juli Cory (or false...who knows)
1x Super Red Bristlenose
6x X-Ray Tetra
1x Honey Gourami
1x Anubias (maybe two now)
2x Myrio
Besides messing around with plants and using this as a solid learning tank, I don't have too many additions I'm planning on making (as of now, at least!).
I've also currently set up an all soil 5g right next to it that I'm trying to get a solid dwarf hairgrass...yard...made. This will hopefully become my planted shrimp tank in the near future!
Below are two quick pictures of my tank, hopefully I'm doing everything right so far! Everyone seems pretty happy!

Re: My first 29 gallon tank!
Looks pretty darn good if you ask me. I really like how everything is set up & how the light substrate contrasts against the decor and plants making everything POP so to speak. The only feedback I can offer is that the corydoras julii (or false Julii) are also a schooling fish. He maybe okay schooling with the Pandas but if it spends most of the time alone he may need friends

Re: My first 29 gallon tank!
Thanks for the tip! I was told at my LFS that he should be fine with the Panda's, but I really agree with you that it may be a personal thing to keep an eye on!fishNAbowl wrote:but if it spends most of the time alone he may need friends
Still rounding out my aquarium lingo, but I'll take a guess that this must stand for Multiple Tank Syndrome! Haha!cichlid-gal wrote:...watch out for MTS!

It seems most Julii Cories are False.
True Julii's have rounder markings: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
The Trilineatus is generally what the "Julii Cory" is: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Looks like your Honey Gourami is actually a Gold Gourami (they get like 6" vs 2" Honey Gourami).
I like the hardscape in your tank.

Gold Gouramis don't get 6". I've bred them and raised them. You're looking at 4" max. But I do agree it is Gold, not Honey.
I'd like to see some pics of your Super Red Ancistrus though!

Re: My first 29 gallon tank!
So I'll be honest - being in to digital photography, I thought this whole "picture of my fish" thing would be a lot easier. Turns out it's a skill of its own, especially with an iPhone.
Anyways, thanks for the comments on my tank! I honestly couldn't remember if the Gourami has a honey or gold once I got home - but I did remember it was the bigger of the two.
Here are two pics of my super red. Hanging out on a leaf and enjoing her first zucchinni snack.

I have yet to master the art of photographing fish, I need a camera that has a super fast shutter speed and a better flash.
