So fun to do the time laps photos to see where one started. All my Lotus melt back to nothing when moved. So annoying....
Very nice set up, keep us posted

I really like the look of the wood that's laying next to the black and white rock. Any idea what type it is? It would look cool in all my tanks

Re: 40 Gallon Planted Tank
It still has bits of bark from the look of it. After a while the entire piece should darken and will not have such a high contrast.

Re: 40 Gallon Planted Tank
I scraped most of the bark off by hand because my dads sandblaster was broken, the darker bits are bark that I was too lazy to scrape offlloyd378 wrote:Wow, my manzanita has never had those tiger stripes! Re: 40 Gallon Planted Tank
Pretty!! Definitely a female. He black spot on her body has "jewels" (blue speckles/scales)
while males don't have the blue jewels on their black spots. (teehee, that sounds dirty.)

Re: 40 Gallon Planted Tank
our power went out for a long time so when it finally came back on I did a huge water change. While I was at it I trimmed off dead leaves and moved some stuff around.

Edit: I need something taller in the back, any suggestions?

Re: 40 Gallon Planted Tank
Thanks! I'm not sure if I like the lilies as a background plant so I'm going to add some more Rotala to fill in the empty parts.

Re: 40 Gallon Planted Tank
I experimented with that "Lilly" plant for a while. It's a neat plant, now only have 1 left and is planted in front of the Rotala in my tank.

Re: 40 Gallon Planted Tank
I love the color but the lily doesn't seem to like my tank, the leaves always have holes in them and it doesn't cover the back very well.

Re: 40 Gallon Planted Tank
This plant doesn't create a very solid wall. I put 5 plants in a straight line, about 5 inches apart. It grew 2 feet + hit the surface and kept going. Again, a solid wall it did not make.
