Does it go to the:
Is It Horrible....
Is it horrible......
That I found one of my shrimp dead and I'm now considering whether I should see if my orange von rio's would eat it or if I should feed it to my cat?

Not a bit! Circle of life! If they don't eat it, microbes will.

SRIRACHAAAAAAAA!!! hahaha... only concern I would have, is if the shrimp had died from some kind of disease, and if that disease would carry onto whatever you fed it to.
Might not be something to be concerned about, but something to keep in the back of your head, just in case.

Re: Is It Horrible....
OK so probably not going to feed it to my other fish >> since Poke brought up the disease thing. It is either going into the kitty's mouth (because she's a cat any kind of sick is unlikely to faze her or back into the tank...though idk if that's a great idea because that's a grand total of 2 endlers who don't mess with adults and 4 adult shrimp to try and eat it.....If I had half a colony it probably would have been gone already!

I wouldn't feed anything that's been in my tanks to my cats, but that's just my paranoid self

...My cat doesn't think it's food LOL she tried to get it to pet her instead. Back in the tank it goes! >.> though i bet my dog would eat it. Of course, He also will try to eat rocks if you hand them to him before spitting them out.

Re: Is It Horrible....
Cats are picky like that. Once a shrimp jumped out of my fish tank and I caught the cats playing with it. They must have tried tasting it and not cared for the texture of the shell. By coincidence, my cats won't eat seafood flavored cat food at all. Could be related!

I'm not sure if my cats would eat the fish, they try to go fishing but haven't gotten one yet.

Re: Is It Horrible....
I have tried feeding dead fish/shrimp (jumped out of tank) to my cat, but she doesn't get it. I think since it doesn't smell like tuna or cat food, she is uninterested
Re: Is It Horrible....
It went in the trash :/ Cat didn't want it and when I put it back in the tank it had dried out was floating and nobody touched it for 24 hours :(had to leave for the weekend and didn't want it to accidentally poison my fish.
