making me want to get some of this!

came across this video and this is making want to get some central american cichlid, particularly this one.

So nice and colorful. wonder if their only colorful when mating... hhmmmmm ... like to get some input about regarding behavior of fish, diet, tank size recommended only for them, etc.... ^_^

You could raise these guys in a 30 gal nano tank. They dont get much bigger than 4-5" they are very mellow no aggression. They are called Rainbow Cichlids, (Herotilapia multispinosa)

PH around the low to mid 7's, temp around 80, very easy fish to raise, prefers a more vegie diet.

Very cool. Someday, when I try out a cichlid tank, these might be the buggers I'll give it a go with... someday....

Is it True that they are not a good parents as they tend to eat their own fry when they are ready to spawn again?

i've been reading about them and I also found out that as soon as they start to spawn, they can spawn within the interval of 3-4 weeks after the fry's are hatched?

i was actually looking at the Cryptoheros sajica. how rare is this? and what is the behavior of this compare to other central american?
