Rescaped 20L

So I scraped together some of anderson's dirt (I still have like 60 percent left). And decided to rescape the 20 after my medical appointment today.
Mang my back hurts from carrying buckets around O_O.
That being said. It's the mineralized soil.
With PFS cap and amazonia powder.
Gonna put in all my dwarf hairgrass.

Did a truckload of Seiryu fall in the street in front of your house? No fair...send that truck my way!!!BillHN wrote:I have about 80 - 90 more lbs of rock
I love watching the Amano videos and when Mr. Amano goes to pick out his rock there is an entire floor covered with the stuff to chose from. And he will chose like 3-5 rocks from all those rocks. Did you feel that way choosing yours Bill?
Well, you have lots of great landscaping ahead of you with all that rock. Keep sharing pics. Love the look of these setups.

Honestly.... I had a lot more rocks on there... then I thought... "too many" xD...
I guess so. I also have never watched an amano video btw... lol. I've seen some pictures. But I actually rarely frequent the aquascape scene. I just based it off of some cool youtube videos with slideshows I see here and there.
That tree will either get: Willow Moss \ anchor. Or flame \ java moss.
I'm also thinking of Fissidens Fontanus brushes, on top of my glosso / Dwarf hairgrass carpet that I'll be setting up.
And the MM will be used in the foreground while hairgrass and glosso stay around the rocks in an island type of way. it'll take me a month before I post another picture though (out of sheer shyness and me wanting to actually having something to show LOL) I'm going to be working on a 33L and 40 L soon. As well as a 40B.
I might pick up wood for one of them, and only 1 more will be a show tank while the others will be a growout \ hobbyish tank setup.

Re: Rescaped 20L
You might want to try christmas moss instead of java moss; although I am really happy with the way my java moss has turned out, I really want to try christmas moss, it looks almost exactly the same on a small scale, but the branching structure is much more awesome looking.
Make sure you get some little shrimps in there if you do moss, that's the best way I have found to keep it from getting gunked up with mulm

Re: Rescaped 20L
Yeah, Java Moss gets really stringy after a while. And by Stringy, I mean, it doesn't have the nice intricate branching pattern after a while.
I made a java moss wall, liked it for the first year, and then it became stringy and tedious. I should have just made a christmas moss wall, but I didn't have any christmas moss at the time. I'd definitely go with Christmas Moss for the branches.
Or Phoenix Moss (fissidens)

Re: Rescaped 20L
fissidens is my fav for sure and it just makes a perfect shape every time. Funny but just last night I wanted a branch to have some moss on it so I tied java on it and then thought, nope, and took it off and cut off some fissidens, tied a twist tie around it and attached it to the branch. It will look good in a few weeks.PokeSephiroth wrote:Yeah, Java Moss gets really stringy after a while. And by Stringy, I mean, it doesn't have the nice intricate branching pattern after a while.

Re: Rescaped 20L
looks good so far I would add more dirt to the right side angle to the back. I think it looks more natural when its uneven. Love the rock got me some at the swap, and a very similar piece of wood.

Re: Rescaped 20L
Update!
I got home from my MRI a couple hours back and decided to add plants. I got a jam packed 3x3 patch of MM | and a HAND FULL (jam packed) of Hair grass (apparently my 10 gal's root structure was completely established and is growing like crazy!@#@!#@!#!@#@! IM SO HAPPY).
So I completely filled out the 20L and now It'll just be a wait game. I'll also be doing a small moss wall.
