Cant beat free.
It will be wise to reseal the entire tank if you decide to replace the panel. It will be some work for sure with all those seams to remove but it should be a fun project.

lots of good YouTube stuff out there. Should watch a few and see if you really want to take it on. I wouldn't want to... just because the tank size just does not allow for keeping the types of fish I like.

I look at the cost of all the razor blades, tape, silicone, etc. and think no problem. But when it comes to the time to do it, well thats what I would have a problem with. I think I would rather buy a brand new 20L or 40b at the $1 per gallon Petco sales and call it a day.

In my opinion it would be cheaper to just buy a new or used tank. The cost of silicone, razor blades, tape, glass, clamps to hold glass in place. Plus the amount of time....

I would definately try to fix it o.o personally that big of a hex tank seems to be one heck of a hard find even new and they're way more expensive then their rectangular buddies. (Would love to do a giant female betta colony in one one day) of course the last and only time I resealed a tank it took forever, hurt my fingers from scraping and someone else had to put in the new sealant because I wasn't strong enough to push it out of the bottle >< never buying the 3 or 10 oz ones again. Caulking gun would have been a big help!!
