Krill, fish crack?
So recently I decided to try frozen krill out on my fish. I bought a package of Hikari cubes where it looks to be little processed pieces, kind of like grains of rice. My fish just could not get enough of this stuff. I knew this was an expensive way to go so I got the large package of the San Fransico brand of whole krill instead. The fish just go wild for the stuff. I think they would eat it until the exploded. Just thought I would share the fact my fish are now krill addicts.

the process of making ALCOHOL vs growing WEED
when making alcohol u use many wood or metal containers to develop it with many additives for flavor.im no expert but its sound like alot
when growing marijuana all u need is a 2000 watt metal halide or hps light.no chemicals or additives u dont even need dirt nowadays.lets compare legit medical uses.
ALCOHOL-beer has been known to help prevent particular cancers and help stomach aches when used mildly.
MARIJUANA-cancer,arthritis,coping with pain from diseases hiv/aids.
in my opinion marijuana is safer than alcohol.

I'd prefer to not blacken my lungs if possible, to each their own though Haha, I can see myself now with my asthma gasping for a breath between puffs...
I'll have to buy some krill to try it out.

Eat, or vaporize... dont smoke.. save your lungs.
But we are way off topic, back to krill being fish crack....

Re: Krill, fish crack?
so here's a little tangent - krill and brine shrimp are sorta similar in the whole very small crustacean that eats phytoplankton. And the purported results of using them are mostly the same. So, do your fish like the krill or the brine shrimp better?

Re: Krill, fish crack?
I tried the frozen brine shrimp and they did not like it that much, they did like the mysis though. Might just be because of the size of my fish and the size of the food. They tend to like larger foods.

Sorry, I have to say 1 thing to this first. Dude, you are sooooooo far out in left field on that reasoning, its not even funny.
Back to food. I have noticed that my fish prefer the freeze dried Krill over the freeze dried Brine any day. But when it comes to frozen, they eat everything.

Re: Krill, fish crack?
Anyone try live brine shrimp on adults??? Im not talking baby brine shrimp, im talkin adult brine...... I was thinking of doing a brine shrimp grow out tank and using it for food because I heard fish love it... There is actually I really good method on youtube how to grow out your brine shrimp instead of throwing away the left overs after feeding fry.

Re: Krill, fish crack?
sandnuka - actually yes, I have thought of doing this. I'm not going to be able to have another tank right now (hopefully in the future), but I'm intensely interested in your experiences if you go through with this. I've heard it's difficult to raise them & feed them something so that they are nutritionaly worth it. But to me it doesn't seem like itd be that bad.

I feed all my fish spirulina, so I figured I would feed them spirulina powder.... I thought it was going to be difficult myself.... but honestly all the youtube videos I watched make it seem super easy... This one guy just takes the left over from hatching the brine shrimp and feedin his fry, dumps it in a bucket outside, and 3 weeks later takes a net and scoops out hundreds everyday for weeks... he didnt even feed them, just the alge produced by the sun did enough?! I would dump in some spirulina powder for sure and probably have some air hooked up to it. Think I might order them today. some eggs today.

I would do the spirulina too. Logic suggests it would be fairly easy. Good luck with your project!!

Re: Krill, fish crack?
Ive done live brine shrimp before and the fish would go wild for them. I have not tried any live on my fish yet. Something in the freezing process must not appeal to the fish...
