Re: red Geophagus question
geo's are fairly mild mannered fish they would be a target for anything aggressive. that doesn't mean you couldn't keep them with aggressive fish, if you do I would keep 6 or more to spread out the threat.

Re: red Geophagus question
the more the better because they will also pick on each other for group dominance.

Re: red Geophagus question
Honestly i think the Geo's would be killed by any one of your fish in no time at all.. Red Head geo's are not very aggressive at all.

Tryout this: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I started it out for you with what you have stocked. They dont have everything so I came as close as possible. So for the Convict/rd hybrid I picked shortbodied flowerhorn and for snow king pleco I picked a common. Just add your filtration and see what it says. Not 100% accurate but a good guideline in stocking.

Re: red Geophagus question
The Red head Tapajos are not an aggressive fish, and will be mangled with that stock. I currently have 4 x Tapajos @ 4" in with my Spectabilis and festae grow outs, all 4" and smaller and the Tapajos still get bullied. Tapajos are not a cheap fish and IMO I wouldnt risk a rare expensive fish in that tank. If you want a Geo in there then add about 2-3 Large ones, but that in itself can cause issues.
I wouldnt do it, but its your call, you know your fish the best.

Re: red Geophagus question
I would. Or with smaller less aggressive fish, or a very large tank where space is not an issue. Another example for me is that I have 4 x Geo Winemelleri in my 400gal with about 30 different Cichlids, some can be nasty, and mean. But they all grew up in there together and there is plenty of room to move and hide, and there are plenty of fish to spread the aggression so that the Geo's coexist well.
