great fish you have there! I have never kept any of them, but I do enjoy looking at them, and that first picture of it's face is wicked.
On a side note, I am also supper pumped that everyone is starting to share more pictures. Thanks for sharing!

its hard to get pics of these guys they are shy, but when it comes to eating they are not. I feed mine fish from the grocery store. at safeway I buy whatever is in the clearance section, cut it up into strips and then freeze it. tilapia,rock cod,grey prawns, ive been getting even cheaper fish from the ghetto market by my house this time I got smelt, and squid.it seems like the more fishy it smells the bigger hit it is

Wow! I dig Polypterus. These guys are plump. Is that a freshwater Barracuda or African Pike? Looks like he can take a finger off....lol

its an African pike I just got rid of it ... it started to pick on my bichirs,when ever they would swim to the top he would get mad at them and nip at them. I hated to let him go
