All the fish are on F/T Smelt, F/T Krill and Market Shrimp, Freeze Dried Krill and Shrimp, Nightcrawlers,Trout Chow (pellets) and almost all of Hikari's pellets.

Re: My Monster Fish!!
I had a chat with a worker at 'A place for pets' once.
He mentioned he has a jar. And that he feeds it trout pellets.
Could bassman be him?

Feeding trout and Koi pellets is pretty common in large south american and new world cichlid tanks, I have heard of feeding them hotdogs and chicken before...Crazy huh!

Trout Chow
"Trout Chow is a high protein, nutrient dense pellet for carnivorous fish that promotes growth and maintains good health", Is some what of what the package says. I don't really know what you are asking, but I feed them Trout Chow because it's CHEAP! and you can buy it in 30lb. bags. I don't just feed them Trout Chow, they eat a wide range of food. Pellts in general are a small part of their deit, mainly they get F/T smelt and freeze dried krill or shrimp on a daily basis. Hope this helps!?!

Jump outs!
Yeah, they do get pretty excited when anyone comes near them, especially if they have food. I have had some jump out but it usally has a reason, like I had a breeding pair of Mono Peacock Bass they chased out a couple of fish. I lost a huge wid Oscar, Ornate Polypterus, and My Spotted Gar. Gar and polypterus were ok because they are air breathers, the Oscar didn't have a chance.

Filtration
For filtration on my 400 gallon I went with 4 aqua Clear 110 400gph each, 2 FX5 they say 900gph I call BULLSH*T I think it's more like 450gph after media and sponges, 18watt UV sterilizer, and a 550gph power head with a sponge filter attached for particals. I went with the AC110s because I had them laying around and it was like 1600gph that I could use. However I hate them, and I getting rid of them. I am going to be building a 50gallon rain barrel wet-dry canister with a 2500-3000gph mag drive pump. Currently I have a combined gph of 3050gph, when I'm done hopefully it will be like 4000gph!

Re: My Monster Fish!!
ill buy a ac110 off ya!
im not sure what it is, but all predatory tanks; the water never seem to be crystal clear. may be too much protein in the water?

Re: My Monster Fish!!
I dunno what is is either, but the ac110s and the power head make a lot of micro-bubbles, I have shitty lights , and there are also hella fish in the tank and I do 2 water changes a week of 50%. That's one of the reasons that I want to make the wet-dry canister, more gph and floss to chatch particals. I'll let you know when the ac110s are for sale.

Re: My Monster Fish!!
That's awesome, but at this point I'm almost done. I did move away from the 55 gallon barrel idea and went with a more traditional meathod. I used an old 75 gallon tank , now i just need to glue in the baffels and set up the drip tray. I should be good to go before July, hopefully.

Re: My Monster Fish!!
So ther has been some changes in my 400. I have gotten rid of a few fish like, Caq. Mayersi (RIP), Cren. Cinta, 2 Amp. Xiloensis. I have also added a few fish like 3 Spotted Gars and a Red Tail x Tiger Shovel nose Catfish ( I rescued these fish from a 75 gallon tank that was so gross, and only filled up half way because it hadn't been cleaned in so long the water almost evaporated out.) An Oscar, Another Australian Arowana, And a SUPER RARE Polypterus called Polypterus Bichir Sp. 'Koliba"
Here are a couple of the new Polypterus
