A. calvus
I haven't posted any updated pics lately. Here are a few of the calvus (white).

Yeah, they sure are slow growers! But I'm glad they don't get too big.

They look great Betty. My son has 2 blacks, easily 2 of my favorite Africans in his tank.
Any spawning.

How would they do with a group of Tropheus in a 240? I plan on re-homing the Bembas I got from goblue chichlids and looking for something else to go in the tank.. And are you looking to liqudate or cull any any time soon in the next couple of months?
Thoughts?

Calvus are one of my most favorite tanganyikan, they hold their own with larger fish and have entertaining behaviors.i have about 80 black Congo White Pearl fry growing out now. Also several females aggressively guarding their caves with eggs.

Those are awesome, bassetman.
No spawning from mine, madness. Hopefully one of these days!
I'm not sure how they would do with tropheus. I don't think they would be a problem as far as getting along, but the tropheus are far more aggressive eaters so I'd be worried the calvus might not get enough to eat and depending on what type of food you feed, the dietary requirements are different. Calvus would probably eat tropheus fry if you let them spit in the tank.

Re: A. calvus
Calvus are sure death to any fry under half an inch...even their own. I think the activity of the tropheus would keep the calvus hiding all the time. They do best with quiet tank mates and some cyprichromis as dithers.thanks Betty, your young whites will grow up eventually , they start to breed at about two and a half inches. When they start attacking the tank cleaning tools and biting your hand you can be sure there are eggs hidden somewhere.
