tankmates for Oscar in 75 gallon?
I'm just curious as to what everyone's opinions are on this...
I have a huge, full grown oscar - probably 12" or so in a 75 gallon. He's in there with a 5" jack dempsey and a 6" hi-fin spotted pleco.
I'm considering maybe one other large C/S American cichlid... something like a severum, some type of midas, etc.
Would that be too much?
I don't want them to be cramped or miserable in that 75 gallon. I also don't want them beating up the little jack either... I'm sure they'll establish territory and all, but I don't want them trying to fight him all the time cause he's little. The oscar seems to be fine with him.
What do you guys think? Should I just leave it as is, or do I have room for one more big cichlid?

I would say leave it alone. That jack can and will put quite a bit more size on I wouldn't put it past the oscar to put a tad more on. If you add anything else your water quality could take a hit unless you had a ton of filtration.

There may be peace now, but when Cichlids feel cramped, that is when they get nasty. If you want to add fish, then you really should add size to the tank.

a 75 is bare minimum space for a single adult Oscar alone..your already over stoked.
If you want to get more fish i would suggest a 120 at least.

Ok. I will leave those guys alone in there then. The two by themselves don't seem crowded and the pleco just does his own thing.
Maybe a 100+ gal is in my future

Yep, a 6ft tank really does help when you want to keep bigger fish.
