Coralife turbo twist and fluval 405
Was thinking about investing in this UV unit. Anyone have one hooked up to a 305-405? If so, any info on how to do it would be great.

IMO, I would not hook it up to your canister filter. The flow is to quick. You want the flow to be methodical through the UV light so that it is sure to kill everything. If you are blowing it through the UV with to much force, the UV doesnt have time to do its job. I would just hook it to a small power head.
But if you want it on the canister anyway. Just cut the out hose of the filter and insert the UV right there.

Good piece of advice Madness. IMO you would have to use a small power head on a canister filter like a 305-405 Fluval. Using a UV on a large one like a FX-5 which I have used in the past, worked well for me.

The 6x turbo twist says 200-400gph. I guess the 405 is on the high end of that. The hosing on the 405 is ribbed. I was concerned about having leaks if I cut it. Looks like it'll hook right up to some eheim canisters... Hmmm

I have a TurboTwist UV on the FX5. It too has the ribbed hose. I knew it would not seal well with this so I used some smooth tubing and have no leaks.
The Eheim generally have a slow flow set up so a UV would be pretty ideal with it.

You put vinyl tubing on, put the ribbed hose over that, then used some sort of clamp?
