Feed Kale?
Anyone feed it to their fish?I just tried it myself last night and it is one of the best dark greens I've ever eaten. The fact that it's one of the most nutrient dense veggies out there it would only make sense to start feeding it instead of the other veggies I've been feeding.

I haven't tried it but kale and collard greens rank in at #10 on the worst pesticide use list. Just as an FYI.

Re: Feed Kale?
So buy organic?
Kale is supposed to be fantastic for snails.

I was trying to think of where I could get it organic. I see organic apples all the time and I've seen organic cauliflower and spinach. I'll have to research a little.

My personal shopper tells me that Fred Meyer carries organic kale.

Thanks! Hardly go to fred meyers but now I know. I'll have my mother check at QFC too since she works at various QFC's.
I'm kinda pissed at myself for not trying it sooner, it was sure good. I just wish it stored longer then two or three days in the fridge. I'll have to pick the leaves off and freeze it.

Unfortunately, this only holds for the Lacey Fred Meyer; I cannot speak for other Fred Meyers. FM seems to have a pretty good organic selection. And I can have my wife pick up motor oil while she's there Everyone wins!

My list is 2010, this is the 2011 list [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Good news is that kale & collards moved down to #12. Bad news is that spinach moved up to #5. Apples move up to #1.
I get my organic produce at Fred Meyer or QFC, sometimes at Safeway (much smaller selection). But once the Farmer's Market opens back up for the year, I try to do most of my shopping there.

Now, D - don't be like that It's just to help you be aware of what you are eating so you can make choices you can stomach. Yep, I took it to the bad pun place
