new fish nickname? (hope not!)
So my wife thinks the fish i got from madness this past weekend are pretty funny. Or at least that their name sounds pretty funny.
her latest FB update:
"I love watching our hoogaboogadoos interact with our puffer. Such ferocity in itty bitty bodies."

That's hilarious!!!!
We have a few with names around the house, there is a Betty & Barney (dark marble veil angels) Jaws & Lil Woman (dark marble standards) Missy (H.Temparalis) MuffMan (Christmas fulus) Richard Cranium (yeah read between the lines on that one sp.44 red fin) plus a few others
Personal favorite that came up over a misspell Lateacara Buckelkopfs get referred to as Bucketdorks

Oh my, is that a butchering of a scientific name (something I am truly gifted at) or just a random nickname?

Re: new fish nickname? (hope not!)
pretty sure she butchered the scientific name.... Thats a cool way to remember scientific names, create nicknames from them.... good thinking!
How about this one, (Apistogramma cacatuoides) asparagus ka-ka-toodles....

hoogaboogadoos
hogaboomorum
Its really clear that the first one is the plural form used to describe a group of them. Where as the second is in the singular to describe just one.
