DIY Air Venting System
I have been think of a way to cut down on humidity in the house. I was surfing the internet and found something that will work great.
Its a Stanley Pivoting Blower Fan:

Point it up plumb it to the window. Add a piece of plywood out the window and use a dryer vent to the out side. Run it with the lights so it turn off at night. When summer (warmer weather) hits then run it 24/7. Has to be cheaper then running a dehumidifier?

Yeah, but whats the electric usage like compared to an actual dehumidifier?

I go with a dehumidifier. It uses more power. But the process of dehumidifying produces a lot of heat.
My ambient temperature in my garage is about 65 when it's 30 degrees outside and 75 degrees right now.
In the summer a simple box fan in the window will help cool/dehumid the room.
Also the warmer air temp inside the room causes heaters to turn on less, and the main air pump will be pumping in warmer air which also helps keep them warmer.

I understand what your saying Cory, but the initial cost of a dehumidifier is well into a couple hundred dollars.. I did this for under 75.00. I have had this running in my fish room for 2 days now the humidity is under 60% and the room stays at a constant 75 degrees. It works for me and i don't have to empty a bucket.

I hear ya. I picked up my dehumidifier up for free off craiglist, and most dehumidifers have a hose attachment option. It just runs out into my garden
