Easy Water Change system
So with my newly setup reef tank, using the python to quickly drain and refill is no longer an option. Since my wife frowns upon spilling crusty saltwater on her furniture, and I have to premix the salt outside of the tank, I need an easy way to mix water and then place it in the tank.
I came up with 2 possible solutions:
Option 1:
A five gallon bucket, with a PVC standpipe placed through the lid and a hose into the tank. The PVC pipe would extend to the bottom of the bucket. Then, using an airline and airpump, I would pressurize the bucket, forcing water up the standpipe and into the tank.
Option 2:
Same setup, but the airline is placed into the standpipe, drawing water up into the tank like a spongefilter or undergravel filter does.
I know that I could simply purchase a submersiable pump, but I already have an extra airpump and would like to avoid spending any more money I need to.
