Re-doing lake Tangenyikia
I tore down the entire tank cleaned everything,,, new pool filter sand (love the color),,, waiting for the cloudy to go away (I'll get some pics later). Found lots of miscelanious Fry during tear down, some sub adult Brevis, some Brevis fry and some speciosus fry and even a couple cyps. I'll be adding a couple altolamprologus compressips, and 4 Julidichromis,,, with lots of new caves and shells for everyone.

Where did you get your pool filter sand? Im looking for the white or ivory sand, most pool place only carry brown and dark sand.

I heard that pool filter sand is better, the sand is a little bigger heavyer so when you syphin it dosent pick up the sand.

I have used silica before ,,, worked well,if you like white... but the pool sand will suck up the siphon too. better color for my taste. any spa and woodstove store should be able to get pool filter sand. I had the Bonney Lake store bring in 2 bags for me at 3x the cost of white arena sand from lowes,,, silica sand.

Got some nice sand in Seattle. Monterey beach sand washed and graded for sand blasting. $15/100 pounds. Larger than play sand. Nice stuff.
