I'm glad I got him/her. I was close to leaving without a fish that day.

Even when they are full grown? I have seen some big oscars and mine aren't close to big yet.

Re: 210 Gallon Tank
you could probably fit some convicts in there, that would add a lot of activity to the tank, and they wouldnt really bother the big fish.

I was thinking the same. A male convict and maybe a firemouth.

Then he can call his tank "the OLD world cichlid tank".
You need a new breed look.

Breeding Convicts can make life a living hell for any and all other occupants of the tank. Total joke on the kill a big Oscar, though I bet it would go toe to toe with it.

I have always hoped that the oscars would pair up and have babies. I think the pleco would end up eating the eggs though.

Re: 210 Gallon Tank
Thats one thing I like about Osars that you can have a pair that get along and hang out just fine even if they are not a breeding pair. Very seldom does this seem to work with other large cichlids on my wish list.

It took a while to find a pair that would get along. The first albino I had just about killed the tiger oscar. Petsmart let me drop the tiger oscar off overnight so he didn't get killed. The next day I got rid of the albino and sadly the tiger. I went and decided to buy an adult oscar but it ended up not being fun. I wanted to see the fish grow up. So the following day I called cayes to see if they still had my tiger oscar and they did so I went and saved him. I was then in no rush to get another oscar so I got the pleco instead. When things calmed down I went searching and found my albino at a place called family pet. He/she was a lot bigger and they lip locked a couple times but that hasn't happened in a very long time. They are rarely ever apart now days. The smaller tiger oscar is the one who is in charge lol.

The link is on page five. I'm surprised you didn't see it. This was taken the next day after getting the midas. It is a nice close up.

I cant believe I missed it....
I like that vid because of the close up on the fish. I thought the albino was a tiger type and appears more a red. Nice looking!

After looking him up it looks like he's a albino red oscar. He was in a 125 with a bunch of adult oscar's and other cichlids.

Re: 210 Gallon Tank
Jake,
There is a perfect finnage orange red devil (7-8") in a tank with other oscars at Cayes today. Seems to be no aggression issues. Just a lead for ya. Check it out when you get the chance.

You know how getting new fish is exciting. But I think you are right. I'm thinking about still checking it out. It won't hurt to look.

What kind of lighting are you using? I noticed they were pretty low profile.

Re: 210 Gallon Tank
The midas or red devil became very aggressive. First it started with the pleco then the albino. The inside of the albino oscar's mouth is shredded. I was going to flush the fish then decided not to. Just joking I would never do that. I took the fish back to cayes and got full credit. I was concerned for the midas because she was getting picked on in the tank they put her in.

Re: 210 Gallon Tank
It was being a typical midas, they are not known to play nice especially with a less aggressive fish like an Oscar.
