My Betta's little home
Figured it was time for me to get back to some activity here so I decided to show you my betta's home. Its a 2.5g tank with an Azoo palm filter (HOB) I got the light fixture to give it the look of a real tank and used a page form an Asian calender as the background. It also has a Hydor heater buried under the sand. The sand is way too fine and I will be changing it out soon. Sorry I did not actually get any good pics of the betta himself.

I will try and update this when I do the sand change out and possible background.

Re: My Betta's little home
Thanks!
I wanted a small tank in my office with an Asian theme to it. The water color look of the calender print was exactly what I was looking for.

I do like the background. I think it makes makes the tank look full without using up too much space in the tank.

Re: My Betta's little home
Thank you, I was trying to get a look like some of the small Fluval set ups with out spending a ton of money. I am happy with the way it came out. The betta absolutely loves swimming in and out of the decor, he has adopted the top hole of it as his little perch where he will lay out and watch whats going on.Annie wrote:I do like the background. Great looking tank !!!!HOw warm does the Hydor keep the tank ? I use a visi therm in mine....
It seems to be sticking though. I keep the temp at about 79.I would love to see more betta tank set-ups....

Re: My Betta's little home
I have never put a thermometer on the tank to check. It is the small wattage model so it is supposed to keep the temp a few degrees warmer than room temp. Now its got me wondering, I will have to check one of these days. I do know my betta is more active than most kept in bowls with no heat or filtration. The betta forums have been pretty quiet, glad to have you on board acadialover, need more going on around here!
Since I am here, I still have not changed the decor or sand in this tank yet. It is still the same.

I'm getting my camera shortly and you won't be able to keep me off of this section. Kinda no fun to post when you have no pictures to share.

Its almost as if the betta forum was for the blind. Great descriptions of your fish but no pictures...

I like the tank the way it is.
The background looks kind of like a Hiroshige print.
