filled up!
So, the tank is filled up and sitting outside to determine tank integrity. No leaks yet!
How long is a good test to ensure minimal chance of developing a leak after moving it inside?

Re: Used Tank Resealing Adventure
Just an FYI,
The silicone will turn opaque if you added the water before it finished curing. This would be a good sign it will leak at some point. If its all clear and you can see good adhesion, the tank should be reliable.

Re: Used Tank Resealing Adventure
The thickness the silicon is laid down at effects the time it takes to cure. So at 40 it should have been okay.

I hope so, there was also some lumpier parts where i just couldn't get it "smooth" but that just made it thicker than the parts where i got it right. (never had to silicone something before)

Tank stand done, sans siding and cabinet doors. It will hold the tank though, and i can add sides as the budget allows. Stand cost plus foam at this point =$80

Re: Used Tank Resealing Adventure
Contents will stay the same until Tuesday/Wednesday (except maybe some more gravel/java moss). Tuesday I am picking up 2-3 festae fry from APFP in burien. Then next Saturday i will add the rest of my cichlids. I have two 24" lights i will set on top until I can afford real ones.
Tank so far = $230!
