Hey guys, I have been on this site for a year now but I just joined today because I am looking for a Black Lancer Cat and the best way to find one is to ask. Hmm what to say. I live in federal way. I have a 50gallon acrylic tank. I have a ton of different fish but my favorite by far are my elephant nose and my Dragon fin pleco (L091). I love exotic fish. I am not a big fan of cichlids but i do like Rams and Discus tho.

Hey thanks for the offer of help. I do have some plants but before I get more I need to upgrade my lighting. I want to buy LED lights now so i can use them for when i eventually upgrade to saltwater/coral tank. But I don't know where a reliable source to get good quality lights from and I don't want to pay the pet shop marked up prices lol. Sorry for the ranting!

Ill check it out, and I know they are really expensive. But they will save in the long run with electricity and bulbs. I am trying to look at the big picture.

I was talking to one of the guys at barrier reef in renton
about LED cause I was also looking into them just a little while ago, and he said that the marineland led light fixtures are worthless and don't even come close to being good enough for a reef tank

Thank you for letting me know! I guess I'll start saving up the 1200+ for the 2 17.5in ecoxotic LEDs. Go big or go home rite haha. Thank you for all of the advice!

Well don't just take my word for it
before you spend so much cash make sure to ask/look around for other brands
make sure you do your research lol

Of course I am still going to look around. But from what I have read they are pretty good. Either way I will end up spending around 1200. When i get the money ill stop by my local reef shops. The reason I asked for names of people who make/sale LED lights is so i know some brand names to research and so I sound somewhat like i know what i am talking about when I walk to to reef shop.

Welcome man! I love my ecoxotic panoramas, you'd need alot of them for a 50 gallon and they aren't dimmable... if you can find them, having dimmable LED's are a big bonus. I can't think of any manufacturers off the top of my head though.

Anyway, welcome to wfb!
