Re: SHOW OFF YOUR TANK!
Betty, GREAT tanks, and amazing fish selection! P. saulosi are my all time favorite fish. I can see in the picture that your males are coloring up nicely...that's my favorite stage that they go through.
Re: SHOW OFF YOUR TANK!
BETTY, I absolutely LOVE the 'scaping. Seriously, I think those are some of my favorite tanks I've ever seen in my life. Gorgeous, you've absolutely inspired my future tanks lol

Re: SHOW OFF YOUR TANK!
Thank you! Mikey, most of the saulosi have colored up now. I had way too many males and had to get rid of some, but kept several that stay colored.

Sorry for the dirty glass, maybe I should clean the outside of my tanks first!
The first is my cherry Shrimp/java Moss tank, i'm trying to save my java moss, so I added a co2 unit.
The next is my 29 gallon, african cichlid tank. A mixture of everything, even some yelow labs, a pitbull pleco, and a couple kuhli loaches
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
once my camera is done charging, I will post a picture of my 55 gallon community/unwanted fish tank.

Community tangs or fronts or trophs or species tank?

Probably trophs. Although I suppose Spyral would try to convince me to do fronts.

Re: SHOW OFF YOUR TANK!
I love front. Only thing wrong with them is I can't seem to build a Tang community tank with them in it. Can't put trophs with them because they're too active, can't put cyps with them because they are tasty snacks, can't put most shellies with them for the same reason... *sigh*

Re: SHOW OFF YOUR TANK!
Yeah! I like trophs because they're the prettiest. IMO. I'm about to get a shellie tank up and running though, it's 4 feet long, ten inches tall, and 6 inches wide. Yeah think about THAT one lol

Re: SHOW OFF YOUR TANK!
Wow, that's gotta be something very custom. With that length, wonder if you can get 2 colonies, one at each end. Do you know what kind of shellies you want to go with?

Re: SHOW OFF YOUR TANK!
Trophs, I have found these fish to be the most difficult fish to keep.... and I have kept allot of fish..... Seriously, I have so much money invested in these guys, and I cant prevent them from dieing.... either bloat, aggression, or whatever... but they just die.

This one is my show tank in my living room.
The sky light is above it, thats where it gets the sun light.

I had my 29 gal in my office a few years ago, but when that big storm thrashed Washington, I was stuck in my neighborhood due to downed trees for a few days and the power was out at work for a week. Fish I had for many years all gone. Now I am prepared with a generator.

On a side note Kev at a Place for Pets noted that some people got 12 volt inverters and ran their aquarium from their car battery during the power outage.

Re: SHOW OFF YOUR TANK!
My WCMM tank that Jacko generously shipped 8 of them for soo cheap.
I have a internal filter in there now so that it won'y suck up the fry.
However sadly, the tank only has 7 WCMM now as one died when I got back from vacation.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I am thinking of tearing this tank down and doing a 3d backround because there is massive water-deposits on the back (I didn't do it, the person who gave the tank to me did, thats right...free tank). Just realized something, this is my cheapest tank. Here is how much I have spent on it:
Tank: $0 (forgot to mention, this is a 20g tank)
Sand: $0
Driftwood: $0 (found it)
Rocks: $0
Fish: What was it? Like $15
Light: $0 - it was a shoplight we had lying around.

Re: SHOW OFF YOUR TANK!
that waterfall tank is Aweoms! keep us updated, I would love to see how it turns out too,..... and rams in a 90? I had trouble with mine in a 55gal, they wouldnt breed until I put them in a 10gal... So i dont know if that is the goal, but you might want to consider moving them somewhere smaller.

I ain't tryna breed them there, their in Canada and I'm not sure how the legal issues are about bringing them across the border although I'm sure its alright too, i just sneak plants over from tanks sometimes :p
I only have one female left anyways.
