What did you use to clear up the outbreak you had? Ordered my rock today so hopefully next weekend I can get my tank set up.....

Re: New 90 gal FOWLR set up
I pulled the worst rocks out and scrubbed them off in water from the tank while doing a water change, turned the lights off for a week on the DT, added macro and a light to the sump and increased the magnesium level. Its not completely gone but hopefully it will be soon. I turned the lights back on for a short period. I dont have coral that needs a lot of light in it, so I didnt have to worry about that.dawgwe1 wrote:What did you use to clear up the outbreak you had? A few new occupants to the 90. Added a few emerald crabs.
4 blue head chromis. They are sooo cute. I have the lights off so as to not stress them while acclimating them. They were hiding for a while. Started venturing out not too long ago.

Re: New 90 gal FOWLR set up
The 90 has a new occupant. He/she is a juvenile orange shoulder tang.
This is what he will look like when he grows up
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
This is him now.
He is the solid yellow fish. Kinda looks like a yellow tang, just slightly different shape.

Yeah, its amazing the drastic color changes some sw fish make from juvenile to adult. Check out the difference in the Emperor Angelfish. Comepletely two different patterns and colors.

Re: New 90 gal FOWLR set up
I dont know if anyone remembers, but a while back I posted about my anemone getting chopped up a bit in the power head. Well he is doing just great. I got him a host today. Here is the new addition to the tank.
Very young gold stripe maroon clownfish. Took about 5 seconds touching the anemone twice and he was hooked.

Re: New 90 gal FOWLR set up
Picked up a couple new fish friday. The wrasse (twin spot) is going into the frag tank. He's still young and small.
I finally found the Powder Brown Tang I wanted. He is going into the 90. They are both under observation right now but looking great. Very active and eating well.

Re: New 90 gal FOWLR set up
wow I forgot about this thread. LOL
The tank has changed a bit since then.
Here is a FTS of it about 4-5 months ago. And a couple closeups. It has grown a bit more since this pic.

Re: New 90 gal FOWLR set up
Well, the 90 is changing a lot. That pink colt coral and the green polyp toadstool is no longer in that tank. Really opened the tank up. More space. Neither are the chromis and the orange shoulder tang. The blue hippo tang is coming out hopefully next weekend.
I dont think I introduced you all to Helix II. Hes new to the tank.
He is a marine betta. Named Helix after the Helix gallaxy. II because I lost my first helix a year ago after fighting an infection for 3 months. Anyway There will be new occupants in the future. Actually I did add the diamond goby from the 34 gal tank I had.
Here is helix

Re: New 90 gal FOWLR set up
The orange shoulder has already been moved. I caught it and moved it in this last friday June 1st.
The Blue Hippo Tang is the next one to go in. I hope to catch it this friday. Then my purple tang. Hes going to be real easy. Hes been in the small trap many times. I was really surprised to see him go in it. The door was only open about 2" and he would just slide right in.
