Very nice tank and the hood/stand combo looks like picket fence planks which is super cool looking. Almost looks homemade like something I did in woodshop class in 8th grade. I got an A grade for it.

Sidekicking, thank you, and yes this is the tank I showed you on my phone at midway on Thursday.
Salzabar, thank you, this stand and hood was made out of two pallets I had brought home frome work and some interior house paint. I just wanted to see if I could make something nice with junk.
Sandnuka, it is nice when they do that I enjoy watching the process, thanky you.

Just a little pic update. I pulled out a few things and added in a few things. Got rid of one kind of algea and started growing three others. Sorry for the craptastic pictures. Will update again in a few weeks. Thanks for looking.

Re: few pics of my 45
looks awesome dude! Your plants look so happy.
somethingfishy - Really depends on the fish you chose, some fish rip up plants... plants also effect the water parameters, droppin PH and makin the water soft... so they dont work for african rift lake cichlids... but great for New world cichlids, angels, discus, etc... also plants are great at reducing nitrate/nitrite/ammonia....

Where did you end up setting the 45g at? You dont even have any more room, if I understand the "one tank to room rule". Is it in your bathroom?

Lol, no this is an old tank, I dug up the thread to show what my old planted tank looked like. You know I haven't even thought about the bathroom, my wife is gonna kill you. And I'm gonna have some potty pets.

Re: few pics of my 45
Thanks I miss it, it died because it was overtaken by green slime algea, no matter what I did I couldent get rid of the algea, so I blacked it out for 2 weeks with a quilt over it and the lights off. I reached theough every other day and fed the fish. When I uncovered the tank the only thing alive was the fish, the amano shrimp, and the anubias. I lost a really big bunch of java fern trident, and to me that was the biggest loss, I really love that plant and its pretty tough to come by. All and all I broke down the tank and stuck it on the street with the stand, it was gone in 12 minutes. I watched as a young man stoped and loaded it in his truck and drove away..... pretty sad, but the tank was badly scratched and the stand was home made so not a big loss. Still sucked.

As long as you dont use the bathtub itself to raise fish in it does work with the wife's "one tank per room rule". And calling them potty pets, too funny
