Angel Fish Spawn *3rd time's the charm?*

Surprise!! My angels must have appreciated my big water change yesterday because they rewarded me with eggs!

Well that was short lived! The eggs were there and then I looked again and the parents were eating them! I think I saved about half the batch, I put the slate in a tub with an air stone.

no egg tumbler, from what I read angel eggs don't like being in a tumbler. This was the best I could do on such short notice, we shall see what happens.

That's a very cool setup. I've got a twenty gallon you could borrow if the eggs make it out of the vitamix machine.

haha! the vitamix machine! I do have a 5 gal baby tank if these guys do hatch. I'm not sure what parent ate them but this is their first spawn so I don't blame them.

no kidding! they are horrible parents.

Mine laid again! Too. I still have about half of the first batch so right now I'm not worrying about the second batch laid last night. I put my babies in an extra large marina hob fry box that has the air pump and modified the outtake so they couldn't go back in the main tank. Makes water changes so much easier and the fry are living more now compared to when raised in the tank and removing the parents.

wow you are going to have babies coming out of your ears!! I really dont have the room for that many babies so ill just keep letting them try.

Yeah i'll put a sponge over the intake but leave this batch with the parents and see what they do.
