I am thinking of getting a Eheim Pro 3e 2078. Any suggestions on media to use? I am planning on a loaded tank with plants. I am new to this.

I have a Eheim pro II on my planted tank and I love the Eheim Substrat Pro media. It costs a little more than ceramic rings but I think its far superior.

I like the stuff that came in my 2217 but I dont think I would buy it for the prices they ask. I use SeaChem matrix in my FX5 filters and like how it works. Pretty reasonable prices online.

+1

I bought 2 L of Matrix before I realized that my 2217's would come with the Eheim media. I like the eheim ceramic rings on the bottom and the bio media (the name escapes me), and now use the matrix in most of my other filters and thought it was a good deal on Amazon. I use the eheim pads, but also got some cheap filter floss to fill out the canister space.
