Inline Heater Question
I was planning on using a Hydor inline heater with my canister filter. I used one in the past and really liked it. The problem I've encountered is that the tubing for my canister filter is too large, 3/4" ID I think. The Hydor heaters only come up to 5/8". I'm sure I could find some adapters and make it work. Not too worried about reduced flow as it's going on a 45g tank. Curious if anyone else has experience with similar fit issues or has any other recommendations for heaters. I really like the idea of having it out of the tank.

Re: Inline Heater Question
Hi anderson_p_r,
I too like the Hydor ETH heaters, be sure to install the heater vertically to avoid failures. For an in-tank heater I like the Marineland Visi-therm (not Stealth) which I have used for many years. They hold a constant, steady temperature and the and from several errors I have confirmed that the auto-shutoff works if the water level drops below the heating element.
